This is a low-viscosity, high-performance automatic transmission fluid specifically formulated for modern Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles manufactured from 2004 onward.
Key Compatibility Rules
  • Backward Compatibility: It is NOT backward compatible with older transmission fluids like Type T-IV or Dexron III. Never mix WS fluid into an older transmission system or vice versa, as this will lead to transmission slippage or structural damage. 
  • CVT Restriction: This fluid is strictly for conventional geared automatic transmissions and is not compatible with CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) units. Vehicles equipped with a CVT must use specialized fluids like Toyota CVT Fluid TC or FE.
Major Eligible Vehicles (2004–Present)
This fluid is engineered for 5-speed, 6-speed, and newer multi-speed conventional automatic transmissions used across standard Toyota platforms: 
  • SUVs & Trucks: Land Cruiser, Prado, Fortuner, RAV4, Highlander, 4Runner, Hilux, Tundra, and Tacoma (V6 models).
  • Sedans & Hatchbacks: Camry, Corolla, Avalon, Yaris, Auris, and Vitz.
  • Hybrids: Suitable for certain sealed hybrid transaxle units (e.g., Prius, Auris Hybrid) requiring the WS JWS 3324 standard.
How to Double-Check Your Car's Fitment
  1. The Dipstick Check: Most modern Toyota WS systems are completely sealed and do not feature a traditional dipstick in the engine bay. If the transmission setup does not have a dipstick, it typically requires WS fluid. 
  2. Refill Plug Labeling: The transmission's structural fill/refill plug underneath the car is physically stamped with the letters "WS" to verify the requirement
